I had one of the best surprises today! I kept getting really sweet emails regarding the headboard I made a while back. It is getting warm outside!!!! Open those doors and windows start the SPRING CLEANING!

Here are a few tips and tricks to help you be successful in your spring cleaning ::

One of the biggest fears of cleaning and organizing is that you will not finish and that it will not be perfect.  It takes me a few trys to actually get all of the clutter out of the space that I am working on. My reward, organizational baskets, bottles and containers.

Take it one room at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself.

My very favorite tip for  cleaning out a closet or a space that has things you just cant throw away is....put everything that you never use in a box to go to a charity, leave the box open, if you need or want anything out of it in 30 days you can keep it. The things that you don't need you have to give away at the end of the 30 days.

This stuff is stressing you out. Get it out of your house!!!! If you don't love it give it away someone else will love it.

When you move into an older charming house there are bound to be rooms that need a little repurposing. I love what Laura McAllister did with her once boring space.

My favorite part about this redo is the it combines skill and creativity. The built in seating just makes you want to curl up and read a book, and the desk is clean simple and best of all super functional.

The thought of redoing a room by your self can seem over whelming but combine an eye like Laura's and a plan of action and you can totally make it happen!

In 2009 my heart stopped when Smith and Hawken closed it's doors. I feel a little sigh of relief when I saw that target was carrying some of their products. I later learned that Target bought the company when they went out of business. There are always been little accessories and some lower end outdoor furniture but drumroll please.

They are back! This is my absolute ultimate outdoor collection. So comfortable, clean, inviting and durable. For sure something to save up for but I really believe this would be that last outdoor furniture I would ever purchase.

My first go to for walls is local art but I also love unexpected items on the wall. I think it would be great in a kids room as well as a clean changeable pop of color in a bedroom.

I am in the beginning stages of building a bathroom downstairs. I ran across this picture and I could not resist the urge to post it. It might just change my course.

Look for more posts about the bathroom progress!!!! I am doing it all by myself so it is going to be a slow process but it should be interesting learning to drywall and install all of the fixtures.
